About the Laboratory

International Laboratory of Dynamical Systems and Applications (DSA) was established in 2019 based on the group of Fundamental mathematics department in NRS HSE — Nizhniy Novgorod menbers. The Department was created in 2014 because of the "Mathematics" bachelour program opening. At the beginning the Department mostly was included professors dealing with qualitative dynamical systems and foliations theory within the non-linear oscillations school created by academician A. Andronov. Since the opening to the present time the Laboratory head is Olga Pochinka.

The Laboratory is functioning within the Megagrants Project 220 by the Russian Federation Goverment. TSince the establishment of the laboratory until December 2022, the scientific director of the laboratory was Dmitry Turaev, an outstanding specialist in the theory of dynamical systems and its applications. The Nizhniy Novgorod School, native for Dmitry Turaev, always has been and remains the leader in dynamical systems theory due to the unique combination of rigorous methods of topological-geometric analysis with applied research of nonlinear physical phenomena. From January to July 2023, the scientific director of the laboratory was Vyacheslav Zigmundovich Grines, a leading expert in topological methods in dynamics. Since July 2023 the scientific director if the laboratory is Olga Pochinka.

All members of the Laboratory are involved in the educational process as the professors of Department of Fundamental Mathematics NRS HSE — Nizhniy Novgorod created in 2014 and providing the bachelor program  «Mathematics». The department head Olga Pochinka who leaded the first students enrollment to the program. In 2017 the PhD program "Mathematics and Mechanics" has been opened. 2019 is the year when the master's program "Mathematics" appeared. This master's program is the double program with the University of Passau (Germany), with а full-time stay in Germany for a year.
