Immersion into the World of Russian Ballet: Foreign Listeners Discover “Swan Lake”
The educational programme included not only an introduction to ballet art, but also deep immersion into Russian culture. The listeners studied special terminology, learned interesting facts about the production of “Swan Lake”, and participated in engaging linguistic games.
The culmination of the event was a visit to the The Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. S. Pushkin, where the Russian Language Centre listeners were able to see the performance “Swan Lake”. According to the participants’ feedback, the performance left an indelible impression and allowed them to see the richness of Russian cultural tradition in a new light.
Such events help foreign listeners improve their language skills as well as gain a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of Russian culture, to feel its beauty and greatness.
