The School of Social Sciences is part of the Faculty of Humanities. It provides teaching of both special and general subjects (sociology, history, philosophy) at the faculty of Humanities and all educational programs of the Nizhny Novgorod branch. The school consists of four professors who are high-level specialists in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
The teaching staff is a permanent member of professional associations, interacts with the Russian Academy of Sciences, international and Russian universities, and research institutes.Students and postgraduates can participate in research and educational projects, receive information, and publish the results of their research in professional journals. Some professors are members of public councils, working groups, and commissions under regional authorities.

Our goals:

- comparative studies in languages, literature, and culture
- cognitive science in the Humanities
- web political communication
- linguistics and intercultural communication
- sociology of work, professions and occupations;
- sociology of education;
- professional roles of managers in modern organizations.
- quality teaching and fundamental training of students in the fields of history, philosophy, sociology, political science and pedagogy;
- participation in educational and project activities to involve students of the campus in research projects in the field of basic disciplines of the Department;
- We seek to: become a part of the Russian and international academic community, conduct scientific projects, participate in scientific competitions and international projects and partnerships, and publish the results in leading Russian and international publications;
- ensure regular deployment of research results to the educational process in the disciplines taught in the Department;
- engage in activity on topical issues of the region and create an interdisciplinary expert team;
- create student themed clubs;
- participate in scientific, educational, and cultural activities of the Nizhny Novgorod campus.
