Abstract

The discipline "Project Management" is aimed at forming the necessary amount of fundamental and applied knowledge and skills for successful project management by the students. The competencies of the student, formed as a result of mastering the discipline.

  • As a result of mastering the discipline, the student must: Know:  definitions and concepts of projects, programs and their context, as objects of management;  various approaches to the classification of projects;  processes and management tools for various functional areas of the project;  definitions and concepts of subjects of management;  history and development trends of project management approaches;  methods used in project management. Be able to:  identify goals, objectives, subject area, stakeholders and project structures;  draw up the charter of the project;  draw up the organizational and technological model of the project;  calculate the project implementation schedule;  qualitatively and quantitatively assess the risks and opportunities of the project;  manage the project team.

  • Able to build Gantt charts, as well as BCF - a method of analysis and regulation of project activities
  • Able to draw up network diagrams of the project without delay. Understands the essence of the critical path method.
  • Able to draw up network diagrams with delays. Able to use the PERT scheduling method
  • Able to assess the investment attractiveness of the project. Able to calculate the investment attractiveness of the project using Excel tables
  • Able: - formulate the subject area of the project; - knows how to use the combustion diagram of the project objectives; -Able to use the method of mastered volume; - knows how to use the Ishikawa diagram; - knows how to assess the risks of the project; - knows how to make changes to the project.

  • Standards, methodology, methods and tools for project management
    A description of international, national and corporate standards for project management. The role and importance of project management in the modern world is shown. The place and role of project management in management activities. The definition of the project, the characteristics of the project, programs and project portfolios are given. We study Gantt charts and BCF-methodology for managing the project calendar.
  • A systematic approach to project management
    A description of the project as a system and its main elements is made. Varieties and classification of projects and programs are shown. The features of various types of projects and programs are shown
  • Management of subjects of management and organizational structures
    A description of the subjects of project management and a typology of the organizational structures of the project. The concepts of project team and project management team are introduced. The stages of the personnel management process in the project are shown. The main tasks of the stages of the personnel management process in the project. Determination of the functional responsibilities of the project participants. The principles of creating a project team. The approaches of managing the development and activities of the project team are shown. The concept of project stakeholders and their interests is introduced.
  • Stages of project management processes
    The concept of project management processes and project process management is introduced. The features of the stages of the project management processes are discussed. The relationship between the stages of the management processes and key indicators of project management is shown. The main and auxiliary processes of project management are shown. The concept and definition of the goal and strategy of the project are introduced. The main aspects reflected in the description of the project goal. The relationship of the goals and objectives of the project. Defining and evaluating project goals and strategies. The charter of the project. The concept of success and failure of a project is given. The factors that influence the success and failure of the project are described. The interconnection and independence of the project success and failure criteria is shown.
