International Club Meets China

On November 24th 2015, students from China presented information about their country at the International Club meeting. The participants learned more about the character of our Eastern friends.

Lida and Chynna treated the club members to several traditional dishes, so everyone enjoyed some unusual tastes during a very interesting presentation.

One can talk endlessly about China and, of course, it was impossible to tell the whole story of the country in two hours, though the students spoke about major cities, museums and temples, the history of the dynasties and the climate in the country. Part of the presentation was dedicated to calligraphy. There are a lot of different spellings, fonts and characters in Chinese writing system which originated in the distant past, and now not everyone in China knows them perfectly. All the participants received a card with Chinese characters as a souvenir of the event.

Chynna and Lida also showed a video about kung fu, and explained that this martial art is the reflection of the inner world of Chinese people: their soul has a tendency to struggle and to overcome obstacles. It seems that now they have become a little bit closer to us!
