Course Syllabus

Abstract

The International Business Environment course focuses on the economic, institutional, social, political, historical and cultural specialties of different countries, which significantly affect the companies’ international strategies and activities. Considering all these aspects, the course explains how international business environment can be analyzed, which main analytic methods are most applicable for solving particular analytical tasks and how the results of such an analysis could be used for creating successful international business strategy. We will review influence of globalization, international business integration and role of global institutions, such as the World Trade Organization, which define international “rules of the game” and affect business strategies and welfare of the countries. Participants will also have opportunity to participate in discussion and to solve case studies.

  • Knowledge of examples and trends of globalization and impact of globalization on Russia’s economy and society.
  • Knowledge of the basic financial strategies, features of their development and implementation
  • Knowledge of the basic international comparisons and place of Russia among world main international “players”.
  • Knowledge of the cross-cultural differences and their impact on doing international business.
