Course Syllabus

Abstract

The present course is designed to give students comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical grammar and stylistics of the English language within the framework of contemporary research. The course acquaints the students with the major approaches to analyzing the morphemic structure of English words, parts of speech and their grammatical categories, fundamentals of Modern English syntax, stylistic phonetics, stylistic morphology, stylistic lexicology, stylistic syntax and stylistic semasiology. The theoretical material is presented in the form of lectures, and further discussed and practiced during a series of seminars.
