Grading System
At the HSE, one credit unit (1 credit = 1 ECTS) is equal to 38 academic hours. One academic hour at the HSE is 40 minutes. Thus, one credit unit is 24 astronomical hours.
The standard amount of one academic year in higher education programmes is 60 credits.
There are two forms of knowledge estimation: tests and exams. Results are evaluated on a 10-point or 5-point scale.

Students are required to attend lectures and seminars, take tests, and complete tasks assigned by the professor.
Course evaluation includes:
- The form of knowledge estimation defined by the professor of each course (the structure of the estimation and the number of points);
- Attendance;
- Work at seminars;
- Intermediate tests;
- Final exam.
Duration of one course:
1 full academic year = 2 semesters = 4 modules
1 semester = 2 modules
