Visa and Registration Extension

After the first entry into the Russian Federation, the permitted period of stay for international students is 90 days. Then the period of stay can be extended until the end of study.

No later than 30 calendar days before the expiration date of the current migration registration.

Migration registration will be extended until the end of your study. During the extension of the migration registration, the migration card will also be extended.

IMPORTANT: if you leave Russia and then return, you must re-register after your arrival in Russia.

After the first entry into the Russian Federation, the allowed period of stay for international students is equal to visa expiration date, but no more than 90 days. Then the period of stay in Russia can be extended.

When to:

1. Extend visa: no earlier than 90 calendar days and no later than 45 calendar days prior to your visa expiration date. You may extend the visa for up to one year.
To extend your visa, you must prepare all required documents and personally submit them to the International Office.

2. Extend registration: on the next business day after you receive a new visa.
