Lost Documents

On the first day when you find out that your migration card is lost, you need to contact the International Office and apply for a new migration card in the Migration Service. After reviewing the application (it may take 1-2 weeks) an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will inform you (call by phone) and offer to receive a new migration card at the Strigino Airport, Nizhny Novgorod.

After receiving the migration card, you need to contact the International Office in order to amend your personal data in the data base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and get a new registration. You need to submit documents on the first day when you get a migration card!

You must provide the following documents:

- originals of the passport, migration card, registration,

- a copy of the passport photo page,

- a copy of the new migration card.

If you live in an apartment, the owner of the apartment must contact the local Police Office to submit documents to amend the personal data in the data base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and make a new registration within 3 days after you get a migration card.

On the first day when you find out the loss of the registration, you need to contact the International Office to obtain a duplicate copy of your registration. You must provide the following documents:

- originals of the passport, migration card,

- a copy of the passport photo page.

If you live in an apartment, the owner of the apartment must contact the local Police Office to obtain a duplicate copy of registration.

1. On the first day when you find out the loss of the passport, you need to contact the International Office.

2. Contact the Police Office and receive a certificate of the loss of your passport.

3. Take a copy of the certificate to the International Office.

4. Contact the Embassy of your country.

If you receive your passport at the Embassy in the Russian Federation, you must immediately bring the documents to the International Office and apply for a new migration registration. If you live in an apartment, the owner of the apartment must contact the local Police Office to submit documents to amend the personal data in the data base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and apply for a new registration. If you have a Russian visa, after you get your new passport you will need to contact the International Officwe for restoring a visa.

If it is not possible to get a new passport in the Russian Federation, the Embassy will issue you a certificate of return and you will need to return to your home country to get a passport and then arrive to the Russian Federation with new documents.
