How to Settle into the Dormitory 1

STEP 1

Prepare the Documents

  • passport and its copy (page with your photo),
  • translation of the passport and its copy,
  • migration card (you will get a migration card at the Russian border),
  • photo 3x4 cm;
  • negative result on a PCR diagnostic tests for COVID-19 (you should pass the test within 48 hours BEFORE you enter Russia).
  • medical certificate in the form specified in Annex 8 of the internal regulations of the student residence (Annex 8).

 

STEP 2

Submit Online Arrival Form

After you buy a ticket, please submit online Arrival Form. You can move into the dormitory only if you submit online arrival form at least 1 day before your arrival. If your arrival details change, please notify us immediately by e-mail internationalnn@hse.ru or by phone +79159320816 (WhatsApp, Telegram).


 

STEP 3

Arrive at the Dormitory 1

Dormitory No.1 is located at 1V Lvovskaya street, Nizhny Novgorod. You can find how to get to the dormitory from the airport or the train station in the section How to Get Here.

At the Guard House you should tell that you're an international student and you're going to the dormitory. Then you need to go to the wing of the building that is closer to the Guard House. 


 

STEP 4

Submit Documents to the Dormitory Administration and Sign a Lease Agreement

You should submit the following documents to the Dormitory Administration:

- passport and its copy (page with your photo),

- translation of the passport and its copy,

- photo 3x4 cm;

- a negative result on a PCR diagnostic test for COVID-19 passes no earlier than 48 hours before you cross the Russian border;

- medical certificate to confirm that you are in good health.


 

STEP 5

Buy a Health Insurance

Please read the information about health insurance and consider options offered by the insurance companies in Nizhny Novgorod in the section Health Insurance. Usually, a health insurance is valid for 1 year.


 

STEP 6

Get Registered at the Migration Service

In order to get registered in the Migration Service, you need to contact the International Office (Lvovskaya st. 1B, academic building, room 113) at the first working day upon arrival. Please bring your passport and migration card with you.

STEP 7

Pay your Accommodation Fees

Accommodation fees shall be paid by residents for each period, starting from the check-in date (when they move into a dormitory), every month and no later than the 10th day of every month that follows the payment period, as per their respective Lease Agreements (for example, you must pay the fee for September till October 10).

STEP 8

COVID-19 Repeat Testing

Upon check-in at the dormitory, you must provide a Covid-19 test result made before your travel to Russia. Within 3 days from the date of arrival in the Russian Federation, you must undergo a second PCR test for Covid-19.

If you have only one PCR test for Covid-19, you can move into the observatory block in the Dormitory 1 and must self-isolatу there until you receive the result of the second PCR test. The block has 2 rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom. To buy food and other goods, you can ask the volunteers to help you (their phone numbers will be given to you by the hostel administration). It is prohibited to leave the observatory block until you get the result of PCR test. In the event of violations, the hostel administration has the right to apply disciplinary sanctions to you. Therefore, we strongly recommend you to follow the instructions received. They are designed to keep you and other students safe.

You can take the PCR test in the Gemotest laboratory near Dormitory 1.

After receiving the result of the second PCR test, it is necessary to send the document to the university (to the hostel administration and to the International Office). After receiving the test result, you will be able to move from the observatory block to your room and visit other buildings of the university.
