Those Weird Italians

On September 29th 2015,  students from Italy presented information about their country at the International Club meeting. The presentation aroused great interest among the club members, because they all wanted to know what else makes Italy famous, except for pizza and pasta.

Francesca and Alessandra treated the students to two types of tasty pizza so that the participants could feel the spirit of Italy. Then they proceeded to break down some of the stereotypes about their country.

Italy is a country that has a distinct identity. Here ancient architecture, the art of the Renaissance, and classic cinema coexist with melancholic contemporary piano music, space technology, luxury cars and high fashion.

It turns out that Italian students have only three vacation weeks in the summer, they throw old furniture out of windows on New Year’s Eve and gather together to enjoy grandma’ s ravioli on Sunday. As for holidays,Italians prefer to spend them in Southern Italy.

Next Tuesday, October 6, the club members will discover something about Austrian traditions in the Austrian Library at 16.00.
