How to Find Russian Santa Claus?

On December 18 the New Year celebration ceremony was held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. Not only HSE students, but also the students from CIS countries, exchange students from France, Italy, Austria and China, and international students of the Master’s Programme in Global Business took part in the event. The participants ‘travelled’ across different countries looking for Grandfather Frost (Russian Santa Claus), and finally they found him.

The student ‘New Year Express’ travelled from Africa to America through Europe. This time the New Year came to HSE Nizhny Novgorod two weeks earlier with competitions, songs, dancing, roundelay around the Christmas tree, presents and a holiday table, bringing joy to everyone. The traditions in different countries are quite different: in some places people go to the beach on the New Year’s Eve, in other places people swim in icy water, some people wait for a Christmas miracle, the others – for a New Year tree. We are all different, but the festive atmosphere, friends, tangerines and music made us all one big family that gathered in the evening to see off the current year and to celebrate the new amazing year 2016.

We would like to thank Irina Sadovich and students from the  Party Time Club for organizing the event!
