About the Laboratory

Laboratory of topological methods in dynamics (TMD) was established in 2017 based on the group of Fundamental mathematics department in NRS HSE — Nizhniy Novgorod menbers. The department was created in 2014 because of the "Mathematics" bachelour program opening. t the beginning the department mostly was included professors dealing with qualitative dynamical systems and foliations theory within the non-linear oscillations school created by academician A. Andronov. Since the opening to the December of 2020 the laboratory head is Olga Pochinka. In July of 2019 the laboratory became international.

Since December of 2019 the laboratory staff is working within the framework of Megagrants Project 220 by the Russian Federation Goverment. The new laboratory scientific director is the major specialist in the mathematical dynamical systems theory Dmitry Turaev. The Nizhniy Novgorod School, native for Dmitry Turaev, always has been and remains the leader in dynamical systems theory due to the unique combination of rigorous methods of topological-geometric analysis with applied research of nonlinear physical phenomena.
