Lecture course by Professor Turaev «Introduction to Bifurcation Theory»

From September 2 to September 13, a course of lectures by Professor Dmitry Turaev on Bifurcation Theory will be held at the NRU HSE-NN

The aim of the course: it provides practical and rigorous mathematical methods for detection, investigation and classification of qualitative changes in the behavior of dynamical systems.

The main topics are:
  • Invariant tori
  • Center manifold theory and method of normal forms
  • Structurally stable equilibrium states and periodic trajectories of dynamical systems
  • Main bifurcations of equilibrium states and periodic orbits (saddle- node bifurcations, Andronov-Hopf bifurcation, period doubling, and torus bifurcation)

Intensive course of 15 lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate students, young researchers and those who are interested in Bifurcation Theory and Dynamical Systems.

Lecturer: Dmitry Turaev, professor Imperial College London; academic supervisor of International Laboratory of Topological Methods in Dynamics.

Venue: National Research University Higher School of Economics, Nizhny Novgorod, 25/12 Bolshaya Pecherskaya, room 126.

Language of the course: English.

The registration on course is obligatory.
