Syrgak Erkinbek Uulu is the former head of Green HSE, a volunteer at the football World Cup, a graduate of the Republican Kyrgyz-Turkish Anatolian Lyceum for Talented Children, graduate of the HSE Faculty of Management, and master’s student at HSE University in Nizhny Novgorod. He spoke to us about moving abroad to study, what an international student can expect in Nizhny Novgorod, and the impact of HSE University on his life and interests.

On September 18 – 22 Director of HSE-Nizhny Novgorod Valery Zusman visited the Korean Republic on the invitation of National Institute for International Education. The delegation, which he joined, included 14 participants from eleven countries: Germany, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. On Jan 31 Dr. Florian Reiter, president of International Community Association of Nizhny Novgorod region (ICANN), Plant Manager of “Volkswagen Group RUS”, met with students of HSE - Nizhny Novgorod and shared with them his vision on managers’ functions in the constantly changing business environment. International Club Meetings at HSE Nizhny Novgorod
International students gather together to speak about the history, culture and traditions of their countries at the regular International Club meetings at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. Presentations of national cuisine spice up these meetings, which bring together a lot of students and often result in fun performances with singing and dancing.

Summer School on Russian Language and Culture Starts in Nizhny Novgorod
Ten students from the Brigham Young University (Utah, USA) have arrived in Nizhny Novgorod for the Summer School on Russian Language and Culture. Between now and midsummer the students will attend lectures on intercultural communication, literature and Russian history as well as improving their knowledge of Russian.
