Visiting South Korea, the Country with Great Opportunities


On September 18 – 22 Director of HSE-Nizhny Novgorod Valery Zusman visited the Korean Republic on the invitation of National Institute for International Education. The delegation, which he joined, included 14 participants from eleven countries: Germany, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. University administrators, government officials from Ministries of Education, outstanding professor were among the guests. 

The program goal was to acquaint the foreign visitors with the Korean system of education, show its strengths and opportunities, and enhance cooperation between South Korean and international partners.

During their stay the delegates visited Electronics & Telecommunications Research Institute in Daejeon ,  Gyeongsang National University in Jinju; a business incubator in Seongnam, Korean Aerospace Research Institute, Korean National Flagship University (Jinju), and Doosan Heavy industry & construction. 

They also attended several lectures: «The present & future of higher education in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution», «Future Convergance Industriy Division» (Seongnam); «Academic Specialties and Development Plan of Korean National Flagship University» (Jinju).

Valery Zusman had a chance to promote educational programs of HSE-Nizhny Novgorod, special focus being on Master’s program «Global business». The Director also held talks with Korean university officials regarding joint IT-projects, students’ exchange mobility, Russian language programs of  HSE-NN as well as teaching Oriental languages (Korean, Japanese) at Nizhny Novgorod campus of HSE.
