Aditi Koomar and Shreyak Tare are exchange students from Indian Institute of Management Raipur, a partner university of HSE-Nizhny Novgorod. They are pursuing a Master's degree in Management with a major in Marketing and Human Resource. They have come from Kerala, a southern Indian state, to Nizhny Novgorod for three months to study Brand Management and Marketing of Innovations at the Faculty of Management. 'Kapustnik' at HSE – Niznhy Novgorod

At Higher School of Economics — Nizhny Novgorod, the international office organizes interesting and engaging events. One of them is the event called “Kapustnik”, which takes place every week at the university. During this event, international students are invited to present a few facts about their own countries and prepare a traditional or cultural dish for other students to try. Such an event really gives one a unique, insider’s perspective on different cultures, straight from people who were raised in those cultures.

How to Find Russian Santa Claus?

On December 18 the New Year celebration ceremony was held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. Not only HSE students, but also the students from CIS countries, exchange students from France, Italy, Austria and China, and international students of the Master’s Programme in Global Business took part in the event. The participants ‘travelled’ across different countries looking for Grandfather Frost (Russian Santa Claus), and finally they found him.

Language Tandem

Language Tandem, a new project at HSE in Nizhny Novgorod, has been launched. The project involves 15 international exchange students, who came to Nizhny Novgorod from France and Italy, master’s students of Global Business from Austria and Italy, who have just started learning Russian, and 15 Russian students from various faculties who are studying foreign languages. The participants shared their impressions of the first meetings.
