Why I Chose Global Business Programme
We sat down to talk to our international student from India how he made the decision to apply for the Global Business master's programme, what the process was like and what he expects to achieve after graduation.
The most interesting thing I found about about this program was it’s “Global” nature and environment, one while studying in this programme gets to study subjects in 3 different countries (Russia, Austria and Italy) in the first year and has a choice of studying in one of the 25 countries in it’s foreign partner universities for 2nd year.
After my Bachelor’s, I was looking for programmes of my interest which includes finance and management. I wanted to get good quality of education and was focusing of universities which are recognised all over the world with good world ranking and also, I didn’t want to end up with student loans while studying at any of these so-called “elite” universities. While searching for such universities, I came across HSE which is ranked good in world rankings and the tuition fee for education at this university is very reasonable. As I looked through the catalogue of the programmes listed on the university website, Master’s programme in Global Business attracted my attention.
- What is the most interesting about the programme personally for you?
The most interesting thing I found about about this program was it’s “Global” nature and environment, one while studying in this programme gets to study subjects in 3 different countries (Russia, Austria and Italy) in the first year and has a choice of studying in one of the 25 countries in it’s foreign partner universities for 2nd year. According to me, what makes this university one of the elitist is it’s partnership with large worldwide corporations and also, partnership with universities like University College London, UK.
- What makes you fit for the program? And what do you expect to get out of it?
I have been involved in my family business for the past 5 years and was trying to internationalise the same but I lack theoretical knowledge to do so, which this programme offers. I truly believe I can reach new heights after obtaining the knowledge of the subjects offered in this programme.
- How difficult was the application process? What were some of your concerns before/during applying? And how were they resolved?
I have applied to several universities in course of education but applying to HSE was relatively simpler. Even applying to such elite universities can make a hole in your pocket as each university charges around $100 application fee per application whereas HSE offers free of cost admission application.
