On 13 May, the 46th Regional Student Olympiad in Management was held at the Higher School of Economics - Nizhny Novgorod

The Management Olympiad was held in two stages. The first stage was held independently by the participating universities. According to the results of this stage universities formed their teams. The second stage took place on May 13th at the HSE University - Nizhniy Novgorod in individual and team competition.

Representatives of the participating universities took part in preparing the tasks of the Olympiad. On behalf of the HSE University - Nizhny Novgorod the tasks were prepared by Associate Professor Olga Gaponova and senior lecturer Liubov Danilova, the Department of General and Strategic Management.

Five teams took part in the Olympiad: Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management  - branch of Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (5 students), Dzerzhinsk branch of Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (5 students), Nizhny Novgorod State Institute of Economics and Management (5 students) and Minin University (5 students). Team of HSE University - Nizhny Novgorod was represented by first-year students of the educational programme "Business Administration": Ksenia Morozova, Ksenia Bogdanchikova, Tatiana Pilipenko, Artem Nefedov.

All participants competed in individual and team scoring, completing tests and solving cases.

The individual competition winners were: Tatyana Nazimova (Minin University) - I place, Anastasia Rogozhina (NNIM – RANEPA branch) - II place, III place was divided between Artem Goryachev (Dzerzhinsky branch RANEPA) and Maxim Smolyaninov (Minin University).

In the team scoring the first place was taken by the team of Minin University, the second place went to the team of NNIM – RANEPA branch, the third place was taken by the team of HSE University - Nizhny Novgorod.

Management is very captivating for me and therefore to participate in such an event was interesting and certainly useful for professional development. Solving a team case develops systematic thinking and allows you to apply theoretical knowledge. I like to set myself a challenge, and this Olympiad was one of them.
