Знакомство с историей Нижнего Новгорода

О поездке в архитектурно-этнографический музей «Щелоковский хутор».

Last week ALaTA students headed by Prof. E.N. Merkulova attended an event at the Shyolkovsky Hutor ethnographic and architectural museum.

As part of the Sugar Valley project, an archeologist from Nizhny Novgorod Evgeniy Chetvertakov gave a lecture on Archeological monuments of Sovetskiy District of N.Novgorod. The participants learned about populations that inhabited this region during the Bronze Age. Evgeny described in great detail Shweytsaria Park’s medieval landmarks and one of the first volosts on the banks of the Kuznechikha river.

Many students arrived very recently and this became their first step in exploring the city. Cultural and educational events are of vital importance. and we hope you will join us next time.
