Natalia Morozova

Associate Professor

Associate Professor at the Department of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on applying various methods of discourse analysis and corpus linguistics to the study of Russian foreign policy and discourse. Dr. Morozova has published articles and book chapters with Cambridge University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, and Routledge. She currently teaches courses on formal representation of natural language and methods and techniques of text analysis.
Alexander Porshnev

Associate Professor

Associate Professor at the Nizhny Novgorod Campus of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and Senior Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Internet Studies, National Research University Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg, Russia. He is an active multidisciplinary researcher with interests in psychology, psycholinguistics, computer science, behavioural finance, and management. He has presented his research at numerous international conferences (such as ICDM, ECER, and ISCAR). He was German Chancellor Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 2008/2009 (Germany) and Volta-Landau Network Fellow of the Cariplo Foundation in 2011 (Italy). He works closely with natural language processing, graph analysis, and other data mining techniques.
Yulia V. Balakina

Associate Professor

Associate Professor of the Department of Literature and Cross-cultural Communication at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. She obtained her PhD in English Linguistics from the University of Halle-Wittenberg in Germany. Her research interests include sociolinguistics, political linguistics, and corpus linguistics. She currently teaches courses on methods and techniques of text analysis and linguistic security & language planning.
Dmitry V. Bosnak

Associate Professor

Associate Professor at the Department of Literature and Cross-Cultural Communication, HSE in Nizhny Novgorod. Professor Bosnak teaches courses in Rhetoric and Effective Communication, and European and North American literature. Hу maintains interdisciplinary research focusing on the interrelations of literature and philosophy. In 2011-2012 he was a visiting Fulbright scholar at Northwestern University (Illinois, USA). Professor Bosnak has lectured in diverse international audiences on cultural and literary topics.
Edita N. Merkulova

Associate Professor

Associate Professor at the Department of Literature and Cross-Cultural Communication, HSE in Nizhny Novgorod. Edita Merkulova teaches courses in Academic Writing and Psycholinguistics and Psycholinguistic Methods. She taught Russian at Thames Valley University in London. Main interest include: language contacts, global English, lexical borrowing, and effective academic communication.
Master's degree, HSE University, 2014, 2nd year postgraduate student in Theory of language, senior lecturer, school of applied linguistics and foreign languages, and research intern of laboratory of theory and practice of decision-making support systems (Nizhny Novgorod). She won in the nomination Best Teacher of HSE– 2019, and became a member of Young Faculty Support Program (Group of Young Academic Professionals) in HSE in 2018. Anna has several prestigious scholarships, such as: Oxford Foundation Scholarship, 2017 - 2018 academic year, a special scholarship for HSE graduate students, a scholarship to them. Academician G.A. Razuvaeva, 2018 - 2019 academic year. In 2019, Anna won a grant from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research for graduate students. Anna is constantly improving her qualification through professional retraining courses: Mass Media Political Communication: Methods and Techniques of Linguistic Analysis and Linguistic Expertise, 2018; Analysis of speech activity products in forensics, 2019. She constantly publishes the results of her research work in periodical scientific journals, and also takes part in scientific and practical conferences.
Oleg Durandin

Senior Lecturer

Senior Lecturer at the Nizhny Novgorod Campus of National Research University Higher School of Economics and Data Scientist at EPAM Corp. He is researcher with interest in data analysys and computational linguistic field. The results of research projects were presented at series international conferences (for example AIST, AINL). He is also practicioner and has a series of working projects in the main position - Data Scientit in international company EPAM.
