Programme Overview

The initial stage of the development of the Finance program as a specialization of the master's program "Mathematical Methods of Economic Analysis" dates back to 2007-2008. Finance has been implemented as an independent program since 2009. In 2011, the first graduation of undergraduates took place.

An important feature of master's degree studies is the transfer of the centre of gravity to independent work, which is manifested not only in the selection and study of subjects in the curriculum, but also in determining the content of the undergraduate scientific work. The latter is related to the choice of the subject of the course work and the master's thesis. The scientific seminar of the master's program, implemented throughout the entire cycle of study in the master's degree, is aimed at activating the process of generating new knowledge.

The working curriculum of the Master's program includes the following elements:

  • Academic subjects (compulsory and optional);
  • Key seminars (research seminar, mentor seminar);
  • MAGOLEGO disciplines;
  • Students' project; master's thesis.

Each of these elements receives an appropriate number of credits in the work curriculum. The number of credits is calculated based on the complexity of the forms of academic work. The minimum number of credits that each student must earn in each program, in accordance with the international ECTS standard, is 60 per year and 120 for two years of study.
