Company visits in GB programme: Asendia
This time the visit to the company for students was of particular importance: this group of students will spend the next 2 months in Italy working on a project for this company.
A great part of the Italian term of the Global Business programme implies working on the developing and implementing projects for internationally active companies located near Bergamo. The students will have two project supervisors who will accompany the whole process and give their feedback - one from the university and the other from the company. Thus, the project aims are twofold: they should carry significant theoretical and practical components, equally important to the company. We talked to Alesya Zaporozhchuk, 1st year GB student to find out more about the first visit to such partner company.
The project we are going to work on is developing a new potential business direction in the field of e-commerce which is crucial for the company's development.
It is time to tell you about one of the projects that we will work on for the next two months. This week we held our first meeting with the top management of the company for which we are going to develop our project. We were allocated the international company Asendia which deals with packaging and logistics of goods, as well as postal delivery.
The project we are working on aims to develop a new potential business direction in the field of e-commerce in which the company sees its further development. Our task is to study the market (customers, competitors, barriers and opportunities) and provide top management with a potential client list and a strategic development plan in this direction by the end of the Italian term.
The meeting itself was quite interesting - we were told more in detail about the company, presented to all the members of the management council, taken on a tour of the production, and we also delivered our presentations on the first market research.
