Аннотация

The discipline is aimed at familiarizing students with the phenomenon of "social entrepreneurship", its role and place in the socio-economic system, with the characteristics of organizations involved in the field of social entrepreneurship. As a part of the course, using the examples of organizations from different countries and spheres, students will get acquainted with strategies, business models, approaches that social entrepreneurs use to solve the most pressing global problems. The format of the course involves a combination of various forms of assignments and methods of control and includes interactive discussions, case studies, tests, study cases, essays in the form of individual and group assignments. After completing the course, students will acquire competencies related to understanding the distinctive features of organizations working in the field of social entrepreneurship, capable of successfully functioning on a long-term basis and contributing to the solution of pressing social problems; knowledge of methods of managing stakeholder engagement and making ethical management decisions in order to create “shared value”; proficiency in methods of analyzing business models of social entrepreneurship and assessing the viability of selected business models; knowledge of methods for assessing the social impact of projects and programs of social enterprises.
