HSE and SWUPL: New Opportunities for Cooperation
A delegation from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law visited HSE Nizhny Novgorod.
The Southwest University of Political Science and Law has been a HSE partner for a long time. As part of the partnership agreement, the universities hold joint summer and autumn schools, scientific events, and programmes of student and academic mobility. This cooperation is related not only to the area of jurisprudence, but also to many other areas connected with culture, language, economics and history, and this is why the joint events are open not only to law students, but also students from other faculties.
During his speech to HSE students Fu Zitang, SWUPL President, noted that the legal profession in modern China is one of the most prestigious and respected, as the country’s leaders have put great efforts into creating a legal state, and any HSE student has the opportunity to join 25,000 students at this Chinese university.
During the meeting the parties signed a supplementary cooperation agreement that stipulated increasing the number of language courses during summer schools, expanding the programme of student and academic mobility, and organising Russian-Chinese culture days in both partner universities.
At the end of the meeting, Valery Zusman, Director of HSE Nizhny Novgorod reminded the guests about the existing Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation among BRICS countries and about the creation of a BRICS Network University, and emphasized how pleased he was that HSE Nizhny Novgorod is supporting this international trend.
