HSE University-Developed Linguatest System Launched in Nizhny Novgorod
Linguatest, Russia’s first foreign-language certification system, has been launched in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The system was developed by specialists from HSE University in cooperation with the National Accreditation Agency and the Prosveshchenie group of companies, who are providing certification and publishing support for the project. Nizhny Novgorod is the first city after Moscow to offer testing under the system.

This is what encouraged the students and teachers from Fundamental and Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities to embark on a flash mob project called ‘Send a Postcard to a Linguist’. Deputy Dean Timur Khusyainov of the Faculty of Humanities (Nizhny Novgorod), the curator of this flash mob and an experienced postcrosser, discusses whether postcards can be helpful for researchers and how they relate to digital humanities.

Higher School of Economics - is the unique area, where particular attention is given traditionally to science. All students are equally engaged in research activities and share results of their findings participating in various scientific events. Students from the Faculty of Fundamental and Applied Linguistic, certainly, are not an exception. The majority of our undergraduates are enthusiastic about performing at intellectual conferences and congresses, taking part in hackathons and competitions. Thus, recently an inner institutional conference «Russian language in vision of a young researcher» was held and our youth scientists were involved in this enlightening process. We asked participants to introduce the themes of their report to share their acquired experience and impressions.
