Experts at HSE International Partners’ Week Discuss How to Establish Cooperation between Universities
Strengthening and expanding partnerships between universities in different countries requires an increase in the number of specific joint projects in the educational, research, social and cultural spheres. In addition, it is necessary to expand academic exchange and student mobility programmes. The working session ‘University as a Global Citizen: Global Partnerships in Education and Science’ was heldas part of HSE International Partners’ Week.
HSE and Thailand's Mahidol University Sign Cooperation and Student Exchange Agreement
In mid-March 2023, a delegation of HSE University attended APAIE, a major annual educational conference held in Bangkok. At the conference, the HSE representatives organised a session, conducted negotiations with several universities, and met with high-ranking officials from government agencies and international organisations. Furthermore, during the conference, HSE signed a cooperation and student exchange agreement with Mahidol University, one of Thailand's top national research universities. The cooperation agreement applies to all HSE University campuses.
'Russia and Switzerland Have Much in Common': Workshop Held for Undergraduates of the Global Business Programme
HSE Nizhny Novgorod held the workshop 'Internationalization and Inter-cultural Management: Swiss and Russian Views and Perspectives of Academic Communities and Business', organized in partnership with the Bern University of Applied Sciences and the Swiss Embassy with the participation of business representatives. The purpose of the workshop was to expand students' knowledge in the field of intercultural interactions, communications and business development.
Serbian Universities Interested in Creating Collaboration Programmes
The HSE – Nizhny Novgorod delegation visited the city of Novi Sad in Serbia. They took part in the PUTOKAZI educational exhibition and had a productively conversation with Serbian gymnasium students. Two too largest universities in Serbia are interested in signing collaboration agreements with HSE – Nizhny Novgorod.

On February 10-12, Emil Velinov, professor of marketing and management at Skoda Auto University (Czech Republic), visited HSE - Nizhny Novgorod as part of the Erasmus+ mobility programme.
Strenghtening Partnership with Chinese University
The Southwest University of Political Science and Law (Chongqing, China) and the HSE - Nizhny Novgorod discussed options for strengthening cooperation, such as the increase in the number of students for academic mobility, teachers’ training and joint educational programmes.
Activities and Achievements of Our International Students
One-year programme of Russian as a foreign language has been in operation at HSE – Nizhny Novgorod since October 2017. International students who are enrolled in it do not only study theory and practice of Russian but are also involved in extra-curricular activities. Ksenia Grushko and Irina Makarova are the bright teachers who inspire participants of their course to master the language and take part in different academic events which can l help young people in their studies and may broaden understanding of Russia, its literature and culture.
Master’s Programme in Mathematics Signs Double Degree Agreement with University of Passau
On November 5, educational partnership between the Master’s programme in Mathematics offered by HSE Nizhny Novgorod and the University of Passau, Germany, was finalized. Upon graduation from the joint programme, students will receive a Master’s degree in Mathematics from HSE and a Master of Science in Computational Mathematics degree from the German university.
