Serbian Universities Interested in Creating Collaboration Programmes
The HSE – Nizhny Novgorod delegation visited the city of Novi Sad in Serbia. They took part in the PUTOKAZI educational exhibition and had a productively conversation with Serbian gymnasium students. Two too largest universities in Serbia are interested in signing collaboration agreements with HSE – Nizhny Novgorod.
The three days in Novi Sad were very productive for the Nizhny Novgorod delegation. They gave presentations to Serbian high school children and their parents at the PUTOKAZI exhibition and met with Zoran Milosevic - Vice-President of the government and Secretary for higher education and research of the Vojvodina Autonomous province. Representatives of the HSE also visited the best high schools in Novi Sad, presented educational programmes and met with colleagues from the University of Novi Sad and the University of Belgrade.
As a result of negotiations with the rector of the University of Novi Sad (the second largest in Serbia), an agreement was reached to start cooperation with the HSE – Nizhny Novgorod in the field of student and teacher exchange. In 2019, the University of Novi Sad became a participant in the Erasmus+ mobility program and the Nizhny Novgorod campus is now interested in submitting a joint application for participation in the competition in 2021.
The University of Belgrade, the oldest and largest University in Serbia, will soon sign an agreement of understanding with HSE University. Anna Shilovskaya, head of the International Relations Office at HSE Nizhny Novgorod, discussed with the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and a representative of the International Relations Office at the University of Belgrade the possibilities of academic mobility, the creation of joint programs, participation in conferences and research. Representatives of the Faculty of Philosophy were interested in HSE's experience in the field of neurolinguistics and expressed their wish to cooperate in this field as well.
Anna Shilovskaya, as a member of the delegation, visited a meeting at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture "The Russian House" in Belgrade, where the universities discussed the issues of admission to Russian universities, told about the priority areas of study, opportunities for obtaining grants and conducting joint events.
