My short Journey at HSE

I started my master’s journey at HSE in September 2020. The program of Applied Linguistics and Text Analytics grabbed my attention because of the link established between linguistics and text analysis techniques. By far, I consider HSE is one of the best accredited institutions in Russia in that field.

Studying in HSE was far more challenging than I had expected. I had to come prepared before attending lectures. Active participation from the students is highly encouraged and expected during lectures by almost all professors, especially the special ones to my heart; Prof.Edita,Prof.Natalya Morozova and Professor Alexey Sosnin.
My professors at HSE are extremely kind and approachable, as they assist me and all students who need help with any clarifications. I owe my gratitude to them for helping me throughout my master’s academic journey for 2 years.
I would like to thank HSE for the opportunity to learn from the distinguished professors in linguistics (I call them the hidden gems), like Professor Natalya Morozova, My Academic Supervisor, The Amazing Professor Alexy Sosnin, and our inspiration,  Professor Edita. I admire them for delivering such comprehensive and informative linguistics lectures in an accessible manner, which really helped me develop a strong bond with linguistics.
My master’s journey has ended at HSE, yet I will continue to learn and seek the guidance and support from all my esteemed professors. The program put me on a different career as a linguist, which I really wanted after 15 years of teaching English. Without reservation, if you want to learn from the best in Applied Linguistics, HSE is your destination.
