Course Syllabus

Abstract

The discipline "Life Safety" belongs to the general education cycle, is studied with an online course, in the first year during the first module, and is compulsory. Upon completion of the course, the student will possess the following knowledge and competencies: know methods for identifying hazards in the modern environment, forecasting threat development, and assessing their negative consequences; the specifics of organizing the educational process at HSE University and the Nizhny Novgorod campus of HSE; the specifics of working with the electronic information educational environment of HSE and the campus; be able to determine the nature of environmental hazards, forecast the negative consequences of threats, identify ways and means of ensuring individual and collective (public) life safety; apply in practice the main provisions for organizing the educational process at HSE University; possess skills in identifying ways and means of ensuring personal and collective (public) life safety and applying them in practice; and safely interacting with the environment (academic, domestic, urban, and natural).
