About Internship: knowledge, skills, experience

The internship of first-year students of the master's program "Applied Linguistics and Text Analytics" has come to an end, which means it's time to draw a line and share the experience gained over the past month.

About Internship: knowledge, skills, experience

This year, the Arsenal Museum, major IT companies, like Orion Innovation and Seldon, and other student-friendly companies have warmly opened their doors to our students. In addition, students were able to gain new knowledge in the company "Dialog Regions", and even take part in a project realized together with the St. Petersburg branch of the HSE.

That's what undergraduates told us about their work experience:

"I had an internship at the IT company Orion Innovation. There we were trying ourselves as technical writers and compiled our first technical documents - user manuals. I would like to thank our head, Mariia Yerysheva, for her responsive management, valuable comments and new practical skills gained thanks to the internship."

"I had an internship at the Arsenal Museum. In addition to linguistic work on the analysis of texts from foreign museum websites and the compilation of corpora, our curator gave us the opportunity to enjoy the art works and visit a number of exhibitions."

"I was working on some research in line with teacher performance at HSE and weighing in on the pros and cons of specific, but anonymous, teaching styles. I liked being able to work with my classmates together on research. The collaboration was very nice."

"My team and I had an internship at PJSC Sberbank. Our main task was to come up with an idea of a chatbot and develop it. I really liked the fact that we were able to use our knowledge that we gained this academic year in practice. During the practice period, we received great support and assistance from the head of the practice, Yulia Marinina. I am glad to see that large companies are interested in supporting and developing students’ talents."
