HSE Gives Way to Young Researchers

Anna Khasyanova, 2014 graduate of the master’s programme in Finance (specialization in Financial Markets and Banking) passed the selection process and took part in the 20th International Conference ‘Financial Reporting and Business Communication’. The event was organized by the University of Bristol and the British Accounting and Finance Association. Anna presented a paper co-authored with L. Bini and F. Giunta (University of Florence) entitled ‘Are Key Performance Indicators in Annual Reports Really Key?’

‘The conference had a very nice creative atmosphere and included intensive discussions of the presentations and useful criticism’, said Anna, sharing her impressions, ‘It attracted representatives from over 15 countries, both professors and Ph.D students. The key speakers were Nathan Joseph and Ian Dickie, academic editors of such academic journals as British Accounting Review and Economics for the Environment Consultancy. Most of the papers were related to the problems of implementing the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) as new global standards of corporate accounting’.

Anna Khasyanova is currently working on her Ph.D at the Business Administration and Management programme implemented by Universita degli Studi di Pisa, Universita degli Studi di Firenze and Universita degli Studi di Siena and supported by a grant from the government of Tuscany, Italy.
