Valery Zusman, Director of the Higher School of Economics – Nizhny Novgorod delivered a lecture at Vienna Diplomatic Academy

In May,  Valery Zusman, Director of the Higher School of Economics – Nizhny Novgorod, delivered a lecture  “Europe - Asia - Eurasia?”  at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. The lecture discussed the ideas of  Nicolai Trubetzkoy and Dmitry Likhachev, the scholars’ understanding of Eurasia and Scandoslavia being under scrutiny.


Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna Dr. Emil Brics, the former ambassador of Austria in the Russian Federation, introduced the guest to the audience.

Special attention in the discourse with students from different parts of the world was paid to Nizhny Novgorod and its geocultural role in the dialogue between the West and the East.

The future Austrian diplomats were greatly interested in  Evgeny Kafelnikov’s movie  “Studio Nizhny Novgorod”.
