‘I Can Do It Too’: The First Event of HSE Art Club
On February 5 the first event of the new HSE Art club took place.
HSE Art is the result of HSE's cooperation with the Arsenal National Center for Contemporary Art. This project brings together a team of art mediators, people who want to immerse themselves in the world of contemporary art, and who are ready to help others understand it. Club members take part in Arsenal exhibitions, work on the creation of art objects, models for the blind, audiodescriptions, and participate in inclusive projects.
"Talk to me about art" - the slogan on the badges of the art mediators - perfectly describes the spirit of the new student club. They talk about art, they make art.
At the ‘I can do it too’ event the participants got to know more about the activities of the club, were trained in the interpretation of the works from the Arsenal, and learned about some artistic techniques with which you can create your own masterpieces of modern art.
Later the participants were invited to create a unique artwork, to give it a certain meaning or try to picture their inner world on a piece of paper. Everything came in handy: magazine clippings, watercolor and gouache paints, pencils and, of course, amazing ideas and inspiration.
At the end of the event the participants tried to interpret each other's works. It was interesting to try to understand the artist’s way of thinking, as well as to finding absolutely new, personal meanings.
