Opening Ceremony of ‘Global Business’ Programme

On October 18th, 2016,  the opening ceremony of the master’s programme ‘Global Business’ was held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. Representatives from the three partner universities took part in the event.

For the fourth consecutive year, HSE Nizhny Novgorod has implemented an English-language international programme in Global Business established by three partner universities – the Higher School of Economics, Johannes Kepler University in Linz (Austria) and the University of Bergamo (Italy).

The following representatives of the partner universities took part in the event: Matteo Kalchschmidt, Vice Rector for Internationalization and International Relations, Giovanna Zanotti, programme coordinator at the University of Bergamo;  Daniel Semper, Academic Director of the programme in Austria, Research & Teaching Assistant at the Johannes Kepler University. The international part of the programme starts with his courses on Cultural Awareness и Global Governance.

‘Frankly speaking, I even slightly envy the students of this programme. Of course, they will have to work hard, but it's not just about the study or business, it’s about intercultural communication and mutual enrichment beyond studies,’ – says Matteo Kalchschmidt, Vice Rector for Internationalization and International Relations at the University of Bergamo.

Valery Zusman, Director of HSE in Nizhny Novgorod, and Natalya Gronskaya, Deputy Director delivered a welcoming speech to the students and lecturers, and shared their plans for future cooperation and cultural dialogue.

At the partnership meeting held earlier on Monday, the participants discussed plans for the establishment of a double degree programme with Austrian and Italian universities and plans for the development of a joint programme.

21 students from Russia, Italy, Austria, France and India will study and work on the projects of Russian companies for 2.5 months. During their study they will visit several Russian companies, meet representatives of local and international businesses and learn more about the Russian market.
