New Prospects of International Cooperation

On October 17 the delegation from Ghent University visited HSE - Nizhny Novgorod. At the meeting with Director Valery Zusman, Deputy Director Natalya Gronskaya, and representatives of all faculties of HSE – NN Belgian academics told the audience about their educational institution: its programmes, research projects, internalization policy, and publication activity. Professor Guido Van Huylenbroeck, Vice-President on Internationalization of Ghent University paid special attention to the university’s high world ranking.

Valery Zusman in his welcome speech said that HSE - NN is open for different types of cooperation including exchange mobility, scientific research, and summer schools.  Natalya Gronskaya invited students from Ghent University to Russian language courses at HSE-NN.

 Irina Arkhangelskaya, head of International Relations department spoke about HSE-NN:  described the university’s facilities, educational programmes, and activitisies for international students.

 Professor Valery А. Kalyagin  presented LATAS laboratory that he heads, special focus being on the lab’s international achievements and rewards. Professor Eduard A. Babkin explained to the guests what the  Laboratory of Theory and Practice of Decision-Making Support Systems is working on and called on the colleagues to launch joint projects. During the coffee-break participants from both universities had a chance to discuss the potential ways of cooperation between University of Ghent and HSE-NN.

Ghent University is a public comprehensive research university located in GhentBelgium. It was established in 1817.
