Vic Cottrell Delivers Lecture on HR at the HSE Nizhny Novgorod

One of the USA’s most prominent specialists in HR, Professor Vic Cottrell, delivered a lecture at the HSE in Nizhny Novgorod.

Students highly appreciated the lecture by Professor Cottrell, which took place recently at the HSE in Nizhny Novgorod. The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Professor Cottrell, a world-recognized specialist and one of the most prominent managers in HR, admitted that at the age of 77, he still felt an intellectual hunger for knowledge. Despite his advanced age, he still actively collaborates with educational and business organizations. In addition to working with leaders in the United States, his work has taken him to other countries including Canada, Russia, Bermuda, Colombia and China.

Professor Cottrell believes that any high-quality manager should be open to new information and, at the same time, share their knowledge with others. Professor Cottrell believes that each person on Earth is a genius in their own way, and that we should combine our ideas in collective creative work in order to obtain amazing results. Cottrell pointed out that managers who understand that human resources are the most valuable resource and that everyone deserves to be treated as a unique personality will be able to work comfortably in any group of people and in any country in the world.

In addition to offering professional advice, Professor Cottrell also shared with the students his views on life. He asserts that a high income, the goal of the majority of the world’s population, can’t guarantee a happy life. Professor Cottrell believes that everyone should always long for unexpected joys and dreams, and explore the world. A good specialist, he says, should be interested in everything in their environment, develop their personality, and practice a lot.

At the end of the meeting, the students gathered round the lecturer to ask him additional questions, and to thank him personally for such an educational meeting. The students were greatly impressed by the opportunity not only to acquire new knowledge, but also to have the invaluable experience of communicating with the professor in English.
