Abstract

PREREQUISITES To successfully complete the course, learners must correspond to B1 or B2 levels of the English proficiency Independent User under The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). В1 Threshold: - can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school. Leisure, etc; - can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an ares where the language is spoken; - can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest; - can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons ans explanations for opinions and plans; В2 Vantage: - can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field or specialization; - can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; - can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. ABSTRACT The Legal Linguistics course is designed for undergraduate students in law and aims to develop their legal and linguistic competencies. It is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary course that enables learners to find out and apply professionally relevant information for their academic research. This discipline is also to enhance effective communication skills for English-speaking lawyers from different jurisdictions. The course consists of a synchronous part (offline seminars) and an asynchronous online part on SMART LMS and control work, offers theoretical materials (lectures, videos, textbook) and practice (quizzes, mocks, analyzing legal acts), writing legal and academic texts (contracts, objective memoranda, IRAC analyses, scientific papers).

    1. Минимальное обязательное количество оценок за семестр для выведения аудиторной работы – 3 (ответа). В случае получения менее 3 оценок на семинарских занятиях, их количество делится на 3 для получения средней оценки Оаудиторная. 2. Допустимое минимальное количество пропусков по неуважительной причине в семестр – 4 часа в 1 и 2 модуле, 6 часов в 3 модуле. Студент, демонстрирующий положительные результаты по текущей успеваемости, а также который провел научное исследование по актуальной теме семинаров под руководство ведущего преподавателя, подготовил тезисы и выступил с ними на научной конференции, написал и опубликовал научную статью, освобождается от итоговой аттестации с оценкой “восемь”.
