Впечатления от программы фестиваля национальностей «Языковая мозаика».

"On 20 February 2023, I had the opportunity to attend a festival organised by HSE called «Языковая мозаика». I have attended numerous different kinds of festivals before in Singapore, Russia, and other parts of the world, and I understood that the term ‘festival ’ itself can be applied to many different settings and events ranging from large scale concerts to smaller formal gatherings. So I was curious to see what this event was about and upon invitation, I also agreed to do a presentation about a linguistic research paper during the first day of the event.
I arrived at the venue to the warm welcoming of one of the organisers to which I was duly ushered into a conference room with a large round table in the middle and chairs lining the walls. The table was full so I took a seat placed against one of the walls. The festival started with an opening speech and this was followed by a readings of poems by students from different parts of the world in Twi, English and Russian. I think the diversity in the festival was a pretty interesting vibe, reflective of the theme of the festival. After which, there were singing performances, in English and in Russian and presentations from Master students in the Applied Linguistic programme. We were even treated to a sharing about Ecuador culture and two different absolutely mesmerising traditional dances from two different countries. Towards the end, there was a sharing about the Chinese language and it’s potential to be part of the university’s curriculum to which I am a little intrigued about it’s potential if I am being honest.
The festival was conducted in the Russian language, to which I only have an elementary level of proficiency, so I could catch only the gist of the proceedings. I am, however, glad that I was able to be a part of the festival and immerse myself in the unique and diverse atmosphere and I certainly did not regret taking time off to come down and witness the events myself!"

"Я до сих пор нахожусь под впечатлением от яркого и красочного события, в котором мне посчастливилось участвовать в качестве модератора секции «Языковая мозаика» 15 февраля этого года. Наверное, это хорошо, что мы делимся своими впечатлениями спустя несколько дней, поскольку сразу после него было бы очень сложно выделить что-то наиболее запомнившееся, так как все выступления и участники оказались на редкость самобытными и интересными.
Самое общее впечатление состоит в том, что праздник состоялся, в полной мере оправдав своё название. Все части мозаики, каждая переливаясь своими цветами, в целом создали очень красивую цветовую гамму, в полной мере передающую нашу любовь к родному языку.
Нам повезло со спикерами (Рябов Г.П. и Зусман В.П.), открывшими работу нашей секции. Им удалось создать одновременно и непринуждённую и рабочую атмосферу с начала и до конца заседания. Мы поднимали и серьёзные вопросы, связанные с судьбой малых языков, и погружались в весёлую атмосферу народных танцев Эквадора и Азербайджана. Слушали песни, читали стихи, и даже провели небольшой квиз, в котором участникам предлагалось угадать, какое стихотворение А.С. Пушкина исполняется на самых разных языках.
Хочется поблагодарить Анфису Алексеевну Городнову и многих других организаторов фестиваля за возможность ещё раз понять и почувствовать каким огромным богатством мы все владеем. Большое спасибо!"
