HSE University Ranks Second Among Russian Economics Universities by Graduate Pay
The SuperJob jobhunting and recruitment service has published its 2022 ranking of Russian universities by salary. The results are based on a sample of early-career professionals from the 2016–2021 graduating classes and who are now working in economics and finance. HSE University took second place.
HSE University Computer Science Teams Place First and Second in NERC ICPC 2022
Two teams from the HSE University Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) in Moscow have taken first and second place in the semi-finals of the 2022 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). The last time a single university took both first and second place was in 1997. Almost 250 teams took part in the event, five of which were from HSE University in Moscow. A team from HSE University in St Petersburg took fourth place. The winning team was awarded the winner’s trophy of the ICPC semi-finals, while the HSE University teams that placed second and fourth won gold medals.
Three University Missions Ranks HSE University First among Russian Universities in Four Subject Rankings
HSE University took first place in four subject rankings and second place by the number of gold medals among Russian universities. The university entered the top three Russian universities by receiving nine prizes in various fields. The Three University Missions subject rankings in 29 fields of study were presented for the first time at an open meeting of the Council of the Russian Union of Rectors and the Association of Rating Makers.
THE Names HSE One of the Top 75 Young Universities
HSE University has placed 66th in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2022, which assess universities younger than 50 years old. The THE Young University Ranking is the first in a series of global rankings to be published in 2022.
HSE University in Nizhny Novgorod to Continue Its Research into Dynamical Systems
The mega-grant awarded by the Russian government to the International Laboratory of Dynamical Systems and Applications at HSE University’s Nizhny Novgorod campus has been extended to 2022–2023. The Academic Supervisor of the laboratory is Dmitry Turaev, a leading specialist in the field of dynamical systems and Professor at Imperial College London. Professor Turaev spoke to the HSE News Service about the results achieved by the laboratory so far and its plans for the next two years.
HSE University Appears in Twice as Many Top 100 Subject Rankings as Last Year
The publication of the latest Times Higher Education subject rankings in the Arts and Humanities concludes the annual cycle of the three main ranking agencies: THE, QS, and ARWU. Since last year, HSE University has managed to double the number of top 100 subject rankings it appears in, growing from 6 to 12.
HSE University Enters Top 150 of THE Reputation Rankings
HSE University has improved on last year's result, entering the 126–150 range of the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings. Among Russian universities, HSE University shares 2–4th place with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and St. Petersburg State University.
Staff of HSE Centre for Language and Brain Studies Take Part in Unique Brain Surgery
A unique awake brain surgery has been carried out in Nizhny Novgorod with the participation of staff of the Centre for Language and Brain Studies. For the first time, neurolinguists in Nizhny Novgorod assisted in the removal of a brain tumour with mapping of a bilingual patient who is a native speaker of Tatar and Russian. The participants—Natalia Gronskaya, Director of the Centre for Language and Brain Studies, Alina Minnigulova, research assistant, and Lilia Mavlekhanova, invited expert and native speaker of Tatar—spoke about the specifics of the operation.
