Harnessing Synergy
Through its Mirror Laboratories project, HSE University develops collaborations with academic institutions across the country. Today, it includes 22 ongoing projects in partnership with 20 universities in mathematics, computer science, economics, sociology, biology, history and many other fields. Marina Litvintseva, Director for Advanced Research at HSE University, coordinates international and mirror laboratory projects. In this year’s second issue of HSE LooK, she talked about the development of mirror laboratories and the future of the project.
Serbian Universities Interested in Creating Collaboration Programmes
The HSE – Nizhny Novgorod delegation visited the city of Novi Sad in Serbia. They took part in the PUTOKAZI educational exhibition and had a productively conversation with Serbian gymnasium students. Two too largest universities in Serbia are interested in signing collaboration agreements with HSE – Nizhny Novgorod.

Hein Roelfsema: ‘Entrepreneurship Is Business, Art, and Research’
Trends in international business, opportunities for entrepreneurship, new markets and innovation – these were all topics covered by Professor Hein Roelfsema during a recent working trip when he held discussions for the Department of Venture Management staff on their joint research report ‘Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in Developing Economies.’ During his trip, he also delivered a course in Venture Investment for Master’s students of management at HSE University in Nizhny Novgorod.

The Southwest University of Political Science and Law (Chongqing, China) and the HSE - Nizhny Novgorod discussed options for strengthening cooperation, such as the increase in the number of students for academic mobility, teachers’ training and joint educational programmes.
Sixth Russian-Chinese Law School Was Held at HSE University in Nizhny Novgorod
The Southwest University of Political Science and Law (Chongqing, China) is an important partner of HSE University in Nizhny Novgorod, with summer and autumn law schools being held at HSE as part of the inter-university agreement. On July 15-27, the sixth summer school was held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. Nowadays, cooperation between our universities is not only limited to law disciplines – it concerns many issues related to the culture of China and Russia. In addition, interest in Russian culture among students of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law is growing – the number of Chinese students coming to HSE is increasing every year.

Although the road to the Global Business programme was not straightforward, once enrolled, Julien embraced all the opportunities available for Global Business students. An inspiring story of a Global Business graduate
In January 2019, the graduate of the first Global Business intake, Irina Tolkacheva, received her second master's degree in Global Business, this time from Johannes Kepler University in Linz. Irina essentially completed the double degree program before it was officially launched. Thanks to the fact that this academic year HSE and JKU signed a double degree agreement we did our best to solve most of the issues our students could encounter otherwise. Master’s Programme in Mathematics Signs Double Degree Agreement with University of Passau
On November 5, educational partnership between the Master’s programme in Mathematics offered by HSE Nizhny Novgorod and the University of Passau, Germany, was finalized. Upon graduation from the joint programme, students will receive a Master’s degree in Mathematics from HSE and a Master of Science in Computational Mathematics degree from the German university.
'Russian School Abroad' - Series of Events for Teachers of Russian Schools in USA
From October 9 to October 16, 2018, HSE University together with Rossotrudnichestvo will hold a series of events for teachers of Russian schools in the United States.
The events will be held in Washington (DC), Portland (Oregon), and Sacramento (California).
