HSE – Nizhny Novgorod has offered a one-year programme in Russian as a foreign language since October 2017. Students not only study the theory and practice of Russian language but take part in extra-curricular activities. Programme instructors Ksenia Grushko and Irina Makarova inspire course participants to master the language and participate in various academic events that can help young people in their studies and broaden their understanding of Russian culture and literature.

From October 9 to October 16, 2018, HSE University together with Rossotrudnichestvo will hold a series of events for teachers of Russian schools in the United States.
The events will be held in Washington (DC), Portland (Oregon), and Sacramento (California).

Nizhny Novgorod exchange student Polina Zhukova, a student of the Humanities Faculty, HSE Nizhny Novgorod, is currently studying at University of Jyvaskyla (Finland) under international academic mobility programme. She has shared with HSE News Service her impressions about living and studying in Finland.

HSE Summer University programme is a unique opportunity for students from different countries to increase their knowledge of various subjects. The programme has been held at HSE Moscow three times and is already starting to become a summer tradition. This year, one week of the Summer University programme was held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod for the first time.
