Language Tandem
Language Tandem, a new project at HSE in Nizhny Novgorod, has been launched. The project involves 15 international exchange students, who came to Nizhny Novgorod from France and Italy, master’s students of Global Business from Austria and Italy, who have just started learning Russian, and 15 Russian students from various faculties who are studying foreign languages. The participants shared their impressions of the first meetings.
The History of France Through Advertising Posters
A new exhibition devoted to France has opened at HSE’s Nizhny Novgorod campus. The exhibition was organized by Gennady Ryabov, who is an advisor to HSE Nizhny Novgorod’s Director, the creator of the ‘Cultural Environment’ project, and Honorary Consul of the French Republic in Nizhny Novgorod.

HSE Students Initiative ‘The Battle of Batteries’ Helped the Environment
In the middle of spring, battery collection boxes were placed in all buildings at HSE Nizhny Novgorod thanks to the initiative of HSE students. Over 50 kilograms of used batteries were collected. It is well-known that the heavy metals in one discarded AA battery can pollute about 20 square meters of land. Thus the campaign ‘The Battle of Batteries’ helped to save a forest area the size of 40 sports stadiums.

Philological Exchange
Anastasia Senchenko, a 2nd-year student at the Faculty of Humanities at HSE campus in Nizhny Novgorod, is spending her third month studying at the University of Tartu, Estonia, as part of a student exchange programme. Tatiana Krasilnikova, a 1st-year student of Philology, talked to her about Tartu, philology, and other aspects of life in Estonia.
HSE Media Students Win 'Front Page' Competition
At the media competition Front Page in Nizhny Novgorod at the end of April, the student newspaper 'Vyshka' and the website 'The Vyshka' representing the Moscow HSE campus, took first place in three categories.
