Dialogue at the International Level: Students of the Faculty of Law Met a Scholar from Syria
A working meeting of the 2nd and 4th year students with Alaa Assaf, Master of Law at the Beirut Arab University / Faculty of Law and Political Science, was held on December 22 at the Faculty of Law, HSE, Nizhny Novgorod. The selected topic was sensitive not only legally, but also politically: "Foreign Armed Intervention in Internal Conflicts: The Case of the Russian Intervention in Syria”. It should be noted that the event was not specifically associated with the end of the Russian military campaign in the Middle East, but technically coincided with it, so the lecturer made a number of conclusions.

Kapustnik in HSE – Niznhy Novgorod
At Higher School of Economics — Nizhny Novgorod, the international office organizes interesting and engaging events. One of them is the event called “Kapustnik”, which takes place every week at the university. During this event, international students are invited to present a few facts about their own countries and prepare a traditional or cultural dish for other students to try. Such an event really gives one a unique, insider’s perspective on different cultures, straight from people who were raised in those cultures.

HSE Nizhny Novgorod Hosts Fourth International Conference in Econometrics
From June 22 – 24, 2017, the 4th international conference in econometrics ‘Modern Econometric Tools and Applications’ took place at HSE in Nizhny Novgorod. Andrey Maximov, Professor, Head of theDepartment of Economic Theory and Econometrics and chair of the conference organizing committee, shared a brief overview of what the event achieved.

Students of HSE Nizhny Novgorod Took Part in F. F. Martens International Humanitarian Law Competition
The F. F. Martens International Humanitarian Law Competition has been held by the regional delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Russia, Belarus and Moldova several times. This year, HSE students from Nizhny Novgorod took part in the competition for the first time and came away with some great results.
Learning Democracy and Exploring Russia
On May 10 – 19 students of HSE- Nizhny Novgorod and University of Utah Valley (USA) took part at the international school “Democracy in the Contemporary World” held at Higher School of Economics – Nizhny Novgorod within the Masters’ Program on Political Linguistics.
