Luiz Moutinho, a leading expert in marketing, the founder of FutureCast Lab - the laboratory for marketing forecasting, and Professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at Dublin City University Business School, delivered a lecture on ‘Digital and Mobile Marketing Trends’ for students of the master’s programmes in Marketing and Global Business.
The USA Party!
On November 23 at 4 p.m., on the eve of Thanksgiving Day, HSE-NN instructor Christian Lloyd and exchange student of the Humanities faculty Michelle Eggen presented the USA to International Club members and told the audience about the country’s history, customs, traditions, holidays and parks, famous people, popular sports and Thanksgiving celebration.

The idea of having a party that would unite students from Newly Independent States, the USA, Europe, and Asia had been discussed many times, and at last International Students’ Club organized the event on November 19 (Saturday).

A round table ‘Tolerance: New Perspectives and Stereotypes in Russia and Abroad’ timed to conincide with the International Day for Tolerance declared by UNESCO in 1995 and observed on November 16th, was held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. The event was organised by the Faculty of Humanities, the International Relations Office, and the Department for Educational work at HSE Nizhny Novgorod.

Alexander Ponomarenko, doctoral student of the Programme in Computer Science, has been granted a Russian Presidential Scholarship for doctoral students engaged in priority areas for the Russian economy’s modernization and development.

Conference ‘Corpus Technologies, Digital Humanities and Modern Research’ Held at HSE Nizhny Novgorod
Today computer and corpora technologies play an important role in language studies and language learning along with traditional methods of analysis. New corpora resources and software for language analysis are regularly developed. Experts from Russia, CIS and other countries discussed the latest achievements in this field at the international conference ‘Corpus Technologies, Digital Humanities and Modern Research’.
HSE Students Defended Theses in Italy
Tatiana Skopina and Veronika Kaverko, Master’s students of the programme in Finance specializing in Audit and Consulting, have successfully defended their theses at the University of Tuscia – Viterbo, Italy. The students’ work was supervised by Fabrizio Rossi, Professor at the Department of Economics at University of Tuscia – Viterbo. Tatiana and Veronika studied the effective use of energy resources and the supply business process.
International Club Meetings at HSE Nizhny Novgorod
International students gather together to speak about the history, culture and traditions of their countries at the regular International Club meetings at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. Presentations of national cuisine spice up these meetings, which bring together a lot of students and often result in fun performances with singing and dancing.
